Saturate, Spend, and Share

Out-numbered among the deer is what we were the weekend before last! Eric and I took 15 college students to Camp Winshape in Rome, Georgia for our college fall retreat. Being surrounded by the grandeur of God's creation was so serene and a retreat in itself. The weekend was also a retreat in a spiritual sense - a refreshment and retreat back to where Christians should be: saturating themselves in God's Word on a daily basis, spending time in prayer, and sharing their faith with others.

Although God's Word was the focal point of the trip, there was some time for fellowship: late-night and mid-afternoon games and time to walk around the camp. A three-on-three game of basketball resulted in a score of one-to-one in the sprained ankle plays. Yes, two people came home with sprained ankles . . . one was Eric! Eric has been reminded of the fall retreat daily as he sported his crutches for a week and continues to sport his ankle brace and 20-minute sessions of icing.

Aside from injuries, I saw God at work healing . . . healing people's reltationships with Him. Fingerprints of God were left on every aspect of the trip. Speaking with the girls during and after the retreat allowed me to see just how much these students were challenged in their walks with God. How is your walk with God? Do you have one? If so, are you saturating yourself in God's Word daily? Are you spending time in prayer on a regular basis? Are you sharing with others the love of Christ? The challenge is clear: saturate, spend, and share.

Thanks to the band for leading us in worship! Thanks to Davin and his beautiful bride for taking the time to invest in the KFBC college students! The students were really challenged in their walks with Christ! God used you!
